Research Report on Australian Water Policy

In May 2020 I participated in a research internship with the Centre of Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance

For my internship, I was given the task of writing my own research project on a topic of my choice, while also incorporating deliberative democracy. I chose to write about water policy as it is something that I am passionate about and it is a key issue for Australia. I conducted in-depth research by meeting with multiple academics on a fortnightly basis, discussing the issue with effected stakeholders and by conducting analysis on previous policy projects. I was able to present this research project to academics and experts in the field of Australian water policy and it has since inspired me to continue to evaluate and stay educated on Australian policy procedures.

After completing this internship, I was able to gain employment with the Centre of Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance as an event manager for a research project on genome editing. Myself and my team (pictured on the right) were able to plan a successful Australian Citizens' jury which allowed us to dive into more policy research on genome editing.
